Larkspire Development
Overview
FrontPage Labs designed the brand and website for Larkspire Development, a Chicago developer that builds twelve to sixty residences at a time in the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and the West Loop. Larkspire sells to buyers who read floor plans closely and compare ceiling heights, so the site had to feel like a well-made building document rather than a sales brochure.
We organized the whole site as an architectural catalog. A numbered index runs down a fixed left column, and each section keeps its number and title in view while the content scrolls beside it. Current buildings appear as a spec-sheet table with a photograph per row. Standards, materials and the development timeline are published as real figures: 10 feet 6 inches, STC 60, quarry towns, month ranges. The site opens on one full-screen photograph of a marble stair, with a single line and a single invitation.
The identity is built on near-black and bronze. Bodoni Moda, set upright at display sizes, gives the headlines the cut of carved stone, Hanken Grotesk carries the specifications, and a single cool steel tone marks the numbered index that runs through every page. The mark is an architectural "L" that rises into a spire, with two fine bronze strokes for the lark.

Larkspire Development has built residential buildings in Chicago since 2009. Each one has its own architect and interior studio, and none has more than sixty residences.
FrontPage Labs produced the identity, the logo, the copy and the full website: a quiet, exact site that sells limited residences by publishing the specification and letting the numbers make the case.
