Brannock & Ashcombe
Overview
Brannock & Ashcombe is a St. Louis business law firm of forty attorneys, best known for trying complex commercial cases and backed by a strong corporate practice. FrontPage Labs designed its identity and website around a single idea: a firm that spends its days building a public record should present itself like a serious newspaper of record.
The site borrows its structure from a broadsheet. A slim masthead opens onto one clear headline beside a full-height black-and-white photograph of the Arch, and below it the page reads like a well-set paper: a drop-capped founding story, numbered sections and a practice index set like a table of contents. The partners appear in a typeset table with monograms in place of headshots.
Restraint carries the brand. The page sits on crisp white with a cool grey for alternating sections and ink navy for text and the dark bands, and every photograph is in black and white, so a single oxblood accent does all the work. Libre Caslon handles the headlines and reading text, and the seal turns the Gateway Arch into a mark that belongs only to this firm.

FrontPage Labs built the brand and the full site from the ground up: logo, palette, type system, photography direction and a long home page that works at desktop and phone widths.
